The Edmonton Oilers are finally back in the playoffs. Cam Talbot made 34 saves as Edmonton Oilers officially earned a postseason berth for the first time in 11 years with a 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday night. ''It's a special feeling tonight, especially seeing how passionate the crowd was and how excited they were,'' Edmonton forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins said.

    Tue, 28 Mar 2017 21:29:52 PDT

Oshie (77) during the third period of an NHL hockey game Tuesday, March 28, 2017, in St. Paul, Minn. The Capitals won 5-4 in overtime. (AP Photo/Hannah Foslien)

With two goals in the final 4:57 of regulation against the NHL's best defense, Minnesota's spirited comeback gave a sputtering team one point for the standings and some confidence for the stretch run. Alex Ovechkin's magnificence on the power play proved to be unbeatable. T.J. Oshie scored his second goal of the game 1:42 into overtime to bookend Ovechkin's hat trick, Braden Holtby earned his 40th win and the league-leading Capitals topped the Wild 5-4 on Tuesday night for their fifth straight victory.

Minus their captain and leading scorer, the Anaheim Ducks didn't miss a beat. Corey Perry and Patrick Eaves scored 74 seconds apart early in the first period, and the playoff-bound Ducks cruised past the listless Vancouver Canucks 4-1 on Tuesday night to extend their season-high winning streak to five games. Ryan Getzlaf, who leads the Ducks with 66 points, skated in warmups but was a late scratch with a lower-body injury.

The Columbus Blue Jackets struggled on the power-play again, but they keep finding ways to do just enough to win. Cam Atkinson got his team-leading 34th goal and eighth game-winner of the season, and Sergei Bobrovsky had 41 saves to power the Blue Jackets.

Wendel Clark knew his record might be in jeopardy a little more than 20 minutes into Auston Matthews's first game with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Matthews became the first player in NHL history to score four goals in a debut that October night against Ottawa and on Tuesday broke Clark's 31-year-old franchise rookie record with his 35th goal this season - the opening goal in the Leafs' 3-2 win over Florida. ''It's good,'' Clark said of Matthews shattering a record set during the 1985-86 season.

Rask made 24 saves following a one-game absence and the Bruins beat the Nashville Predators 4-1, improving their playoff chances in the process. Patrice Bergeron, David Krejci, Noel Acciari and David Backes scored for the Bruins, who moved three points ahead of idle Tampa Bay for the second Eastern Conference wild card with six games remaining.
